So when Blogger mysteriously deleted this blog a few months ago (it was flagged as spam), we had pretty much given it up as lost. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. I went through the stages of grief and finally reconciled myself to the fact that it was irrevocably gone. But then, through a series of frantic interactions with a blog fixer named nitecruzr--which, indeed, sounds just as weird as it was--and just in time for Easter, the blog miraculously reappeared! Cue glowing lights and angelic heralding! Over the next few weeks I'll share a few posts of our spring.
First on the list is teaching the young women and girls in my ward how to frost cupcakes. I made something like 10 pounds of frosting and the leaders made no less than 3 billion cupcakes and the girls went hog wild. Here they are on the stage, being sassy.
Even sassier. These are a few of the girls I teach in early morning Seminary. Though it is a personal affront to wake up at the criminal hour of 5 AM, they make me so happy. (And will kill me once they see this on the interwebs.) It's just the price you have to pay...
Addie's finished product.
Tyonna's particularly accurate and creative portrayal of Edward the vampire. Minus bedazzled skin.
You have to admit, the resemblance is uncanny.
Some more finished products...
And, yes, this cupcake portrays Orion, as in the constellation. Brilliant!
We had Easter dinner at the Andreasens and ate more ham than I care to say. A totally delicious way to ring in Michigan's freakishly pleasant spring. And just a few teasers for what is in store for you in the coming weeks, which may or may not include Powwows and kids in a trunk. Because that's how we roll.
